Makahiki 2021 - Week 13
Makahiki has come to a close. Hawaiians could tell by the subtle changes in the weather. The air started to warm and the rain started to lighten. The nights came later and were getting shorter. And once an unmanned canoe would be seen on the ocean, it was time to return to normal daily life. However one final feast would be had and a freshly roasted pig would be itʻs centerpiece. This was no longer banned as the time of Lono was complete and now it was the time of Kū. This week, we will be donating 10% of sales to YWCA O'ahu.
